In    1967,    four    unknown    actors    in    a    low    budget,    teen-oriented    TV    show became   the   biggest   pop   music   act   in   the   world   -   in   America,   they   out-sold Elvis   and   The   Beatles   combined.   They   were   The   Monkees,   and   they   weren't a   band   in   any   true   sense   -   at   least   at   first.   They   were   a   money-making machine   driven   by   ego   and   ambition,   a   machine   that   would   ultimately crash   and   burn   in   a   storm   of   greed,   hurt   feelings   and   legal   wrangling.   I’M   A BELIEVER   –   THE   STORY   OF   THE   MONKEES   is   a   brand   new   show   tells   the incredible true story of pop music's first manufactured boy band. Although   running   for   only   two   seasons,   The   Monkees,   made   international   stars of   its   cast   Micky   Dolenz,   Michael   Nesmith,   Peter   Tork,   and   the   late   Davy   Jones, who   brought   a   mix   of   pop,   rock,   Broadway,   and   country   to   their   music,   along with   a   heavy   dose   of   zany   humour,   which   was   adored   by   millions   on   both   sides of   the   Atlantic.   Together   they   pioneered   the   music   video   format   and   paved   the way   for   every   boy   band   that   followed   in   their   wake,   from   New   Kids   on   the   Block to   ‘N   Sync,   while   Davy   set   the   stage   for   future   teen   idols   from   David   Cassidy   to Justin   Bieber.   Despite   their   beginnings,   The   Monkees,   would   ironically   become one   of   the   most   successful   bands   of   the   1960’s,   selling   more   than   50   million records worldwide. Over 50 years on and the band are as popular as ever... I’M   A   BELIEVER   –   THE   STORY   OF   THE   MONKEES    is   high-energy   show   featuring a   parade   of   International   pop   hits   from   some   of   the   most   genuinely   inspired albums   of   the   swingin’   sixties,   including   I’m   A   Believer,   Last   Train   to   Clarksville, Pleasant   Valley   Sunday,   (I’m   Not   Your)   Steppin’   Stone,   A   Little   Bit   Me,   A   Little   Bit   You, Daydream   Believer   and   of   course,   the   iconic   theme   tune,   performed   100%   live   by four   of   UK’s   top   actor   /   musicians.   Combined   with   a   multimedia   presentation containing   clips   from   the   TV   show   this   is   a   truly   unforgettably   nostalgic   evening of rock, pop and comedy not to be missed..!
